Civitas Medicos goes to Barangay Tulungatung

Finally, the team goes to the community for the first time. We named the team "Civitas Medicos" that means Community doctors. The team followed Covid-19 guidelines and protocols for our protection and safety throught out community immersion.

Before our community immersion, we had planning and strategy meeting last March 26, 2022 at Tom and Toms Coffee Shop. In this photo, the team with our community preceptor, Dr. Shawa Tan, Ayala District Nurse, Ms. Karen, and Barangay Tulungatung midwife, Ms. Fe Alvarez.

We had courtesy meeting with the Barangay Captain. He is supportive and glad that we are assigned in their community.

This is during ocular survey of the area

We gathered the primary data through questionnaires through random sampling of the seven zones of Barangay Tulungatung. With this, we were able to identify the problems of the community and also through our observations.

The team also participated in Barangay activities such as Covid-19 vaccination.

After we collated and tallied the primary data, we invited the zone leaders and Barangay officials for an assembly for prioritization of the problems that we had identified. The first assembly was held at the Barangay's multi-purpose hall last April 19, 2022. It was an interactive meeting wherein all zone leaders raised their concerns and expressed their willingness to participate together to envision a better Barangay Tulungatung.
